Traceroute:
Traceroute is a network tool that is used to track the path of data between two points on a network or the Internet. This tool will show you the path across the Internet between our server and your computer. With this information you may be able to tell if there is a problem somewhere on the Internet.

The traceroute program tests each computer or router between our server and your computer by sending a packet (or probe) to each system and waits for a response. If we get no response from a system a * will be displayed. We will try to probe each system 3 times and will wait 2 seconds for a response. Further, we will only attempt a total of 25 tests. If you see a * that does not necessarily mean there is a problem on the Internet or your network. Many systems are configured by their owner or administrator to not responde to such probes to prevent hackers and the like from knowing the true address or name of the router or system.
